Bread recipe for good sliced bread?

Making lots of homemade bread lately, but I'm having problems finding a recipe. I want to make bread that I can slice in 3/4 inch slices and not having it fall apart, but I don't want it so dense that I can bite into it either.

Do any of you have that recipe hidden somewhere? Will you share it with me?

Thanks! Ruth

  2. Did you ever try my recipe for Oatmeal Bread? If you want to look up the recipe again, go to my Search box on the right hand side bar and type in "Oatmeal Bread" and you should find it. For me it comes out as a softer bread but still holds together when sliced. Using the quick oats should make the slices "stay together" more readily. Hope this helps.

  3. I have a plain old "white bread" recipe that I use for the kids' sandwich bread, not the most creative of loaves but it's lighter than my other breads and slices and freezes well. If it sounds like what you are looking for I'll list it.

  4. My potato bread does wonderfully. I also make a white bread (not posted yet) if you would rather have that one, I do wheat as well.

  5. Can't see it there, but the words "potato bread" links to the recipe.

  6. Hi Ruth!
I have a recipe for 100% Whole Wheat Bread on my blog that slices wonderfully! It's not heavy or dry like some whole wheat breads either.

If the link doesn't work, my blog is Lazy J Bar C Farm and the recipe is on the right under popular posts.
