I am alive... I think!

Fair is over, it was a lot of fun and quite productive. However, I am exhausted. Something about being a 4-H mom, club leader and large livestock superintendent takes a bit out of a person.

Lyndsey had a successful fair... not subtracting the expenses, she made over $2002 in premiums, special awards, pig/lamb at auction and back-up lamb. We are down to just Stacie and Two (the ewes), Carhartt the calf and the horse that is being boarded here for large livestock. No piggies and the twin lambs are gone also. The auction lamb is at a local sheep ranch and the back-up lamb (sob) went off to the butcher. We are looking for another breeding ewe (preferably a Suffolk) before mid-August.

I will share more soon, but I'm still trying to catch up on my rest and the chores that didn't get accomplished while we were gone from 7 am to 10 pm every day. Yawn!

  1. Sounds like a busy but productive time! The worst will be getting all caught up at home. Good luck!

  3. Wow, what a daily schedule you were keeping! Sue said it . . . getting caught up at home will really put you out flat! (Nah, I know you're tougher than that, but don't try to do it all in one day or we might not hear from you for a month!)
